GENERAL INFORMATION

Recreational Season Information

Players are assigned to teams and train one or two nights per week under the supervision of volunteer parent coaches.  Coaches determine the practice day(s) and times.  

If there are enough DEFC teams in the age group all games will be "in-house" with games against other DEFC teams.  DEFC North teams will play in the Hockessin area, DEFC Central teams will play in the Middletown/Odessa area, however there may be games between DEFC North and DEFC Central which would require some travel for games.

If there are not enough DEFC teams to play all games "in-house", U14 teams will play in the DYSA Inter-League.  The league is formed with other Delaware based clubs.  Teams playing in the DSYA Inter- League will have some "away" games at other Delaware based clubs that will require some travel.

U14 game format is 11v11 (10 field players and a keeper).  The club tries to have certified referees available for all U14 games.

Uniform/Equipment Requirements

  • No jewelry, no hard hair barrettes, no casts.
  • Soccer cleats are recommended but not required.
  • Shin guards under socks
  • Size 5 ball
  • Delaware FC Jerseys black and sky blue, black shorts and black socks
  • Goalie gloves recommended
