TOPSoccer - A commitment to "Soccer For All!"

Fall 2024 TOPSoccer Registration Open

TOPSoccer

GENERAL INFORMATION

TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based soccer program for young athletes with disabilities sponsored by US Youth Soccer. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, age 4-19, who has a cognitive or physical disability. TOPSoccer’s goal is to enable our young athletes with disabilities to become valued and successful members of the Delaware FC Soccer family.

Our TOPSoccer Program concentrates on development, training, and providing meaningful participation rather than on competition. Practices will be a combination of skill training and small-sided games. For the players who are unable to participate in a team environment due to medical reasons, we also offer a skills program that is rewarding, challenging and fun!

    The TopSoccer Program Needs Buddies!

A great way for middle school and high school students to earn service hours!

Being a TOPSoccer Buddy is a unique opportunity to give back to your community in such a meaningful way. The kids you will be working with look up to their Buddies as mentors. We promise that the experience will be rewarding and great friendships will be made.

One of our TOPSoccer buddies, Rebecca Bulgarelli, has produced an instructive and helpful video for our TOPSoccer buddies.  Rebecca prepared the video while working on her Masters degree in speech pathology.

The video can be viewed at the following link: TOPSoccer Training

For this program to be successful, we need volunteers.  We are actively looking for TOPSoccer Buddies.  You do not need soccer experience, just a willingness to help others and have fun.  Training will be provided.  TOPSoccer Buddies work directly with our TOPSoccer players; encouraging them and showing them how to participate in our TOPSoccer sessions.  Buddies will be directed by TOPSoccer coaches on what to do and how to interact with our players.  You can sign up for as many sessions as you like.
