2025 SPRING RECREATIONAL PROGRAM INFO
Get started on the right foot! The DEFC South Spring Recreational Program is a 6-week program designed for boys & girls between the ages of 3 and 7 as an introduction to the beautiful game. Sessions are run by DEFC Professional Staff Coaches with the assistance of volunteer parents.

- Discovery U4 TinyMites (2021 Birth Year)
- Discovery U5 MiniMites (2020 Birth Year)
- Discovery U6 DynaMites (2019 Birth Year)
- U8 (2018 & 2017 Birth Years)
Age Group Information:
Discovery U4 TinyMites -
The program is designed to introduce our youngest players to the game through familiarity with “touches” on the ball, repetition of movement with the ball and simple directional play. The sessions will include fun activities to reinforce these attributes.
While the sessions are run by DEFC coaches, parent involvement is encouraged and often times necessary 🙂
Discovery U5 MiniMites & U6 DynaMites
Children will be introduced to team play through fun games and basic skill drills. MiniMites sessions will be once a week under the direction of a DEFC staff coach with the assistance of parent volunteers. Each session will include a 15-20 minutes of technical, skill building games followed by 4v4 or 5v5 small sided games.
U8 -
Same format at U5 & U6. Depending on the number of players in the age group "Teams" may be formed and play a 6 game schedule in the 4v4 format.
UNIFORMS & EQUIPMENT
All players in the Discovery age groups (U4/U5/U6) will receive a DEFC jersey included with their registration.
U8 players will need to order both a Blue and Black DEFC jersey.
- Soccer cleats are recommended.

Shin guards are required for U8 and above.

All Spring 2025 sessions will be held on Saturdays in Lewes, DE on the following dates:

May 17th
May 31st (make up date if needed)
Session times will primarily be in the morning, but there may be some early afternoon session times. The exact time for each age group will be communicated to all registrants a couple of weeks prior to the start of the season.
