Delaware FC and Delaware Union today announce a merger of the two clubs under the Delaware FC brand.
Both clubs, non-profit, community based organizations with long and established histories providing youth soccer in Delaware have always enjoyed a cooperative relationship. The genesis of the merger has been crafted by both clubs from the viewpoint of what is best for all players and their families and is consistent with Delaware FC’s mission statement of “Soccer For All” and Delaware Union’s mission of providing opportunities for players to reach their highest potential at any level of the game through commitment, passion and respect.
The merger creates a Delaware based youth soccer organization with the deepest and most experienced professional staff in the State as well as the largest recreational program and a competitive program that offers a professional and customized approach that caters to the needs of every player.
The combined staff and resources allow Delaware FC to enhance its continued focus on talent development rather than simple talent identification, which has unfortunately been a growing segment of the youth soccer landscape with the continued expansion of for-profit youth soccer businesses. The merger and the combined staff and resources position Delaware FC to continue to provide a local, common sense youth soccer experience now serving the largest number of youth soccer participants in Delaware.
